Allison Roe, BA
Practicum Intern | Rochester, MN | In-Person and Virtual Therapy
You don’t need everything figured out to find peace, connection, and trust in yourself.
I believe therapy gives us space to slow down, explore our stories, and approach life’s challenges with curiosity rather than judgment. Healing does not look the same for everyone, which is why I draw from conversation, mindfulness, creativity, and body-based practices to help each client discover what feels meaningful and supportive to them.
I am Allison Roe, a practicum intern at Omni Mental Health, offering both in-person and virtual sessions. My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and adaptable. I strive to create an inclusive space where individuals and couples feel comfortable exploring their identities, relationships, and experiences—even when there is no simple or perfect answer.
Why Work With Me
I understand that walking into therapy takes courage, especially when you are discussing deeply personal experiences or parts of yourself that have been met with guilt, shame, or misunderstanding. I will meet you where you are and approach our work with openness, curiosity, and respect. You are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you explore your story, recognize where you feel stuck, and discover tools that genuinely work for you.
I am especially passionate about supporting clients with sexual well-being, relationship concerns, ADHD, trauma, depression, and the identity changes that can accompany pregnancy, parenthood, or adoption. I welcome individuals and couples from all backgrounds and relationship structures, including members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. My goal is to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to become more confident in who you are.
My Therapy Approach
My approach to therapy is flexible and tailored to the person in front of me. I use a narrative foundation to better understand your life story, the experiences that have shaped you, and the places where you may feel stuck. Together, we will explore different perspectives and try practical tools and techniques that support healing, growth, and greater contentment.
As a yoga instructor, I also value the connection between the mind and body. Depending on your needs and comfort level, sessions may include breathwork, mindfulness, gentle movement, meditation, or creative activities alongside traditional talk therapy. There is no single way a session has to look—I want our work together to feel supportive, meaningful, and authentic to you.
Addressing Common Concerns
You may be feeling disconnected from yourself or your partner, struggling to communicate your needs, or carrying guilt and shame around sex, intimacy, or identity. You may also be navigating ADHD, depression, trauma, major life transitions, or the emotional and physical changes that can come with pregnancy, parenthood, or adoption. Whatever brings you to therapy, you do not need to have the right words or know exactly where to begin.
Together, we can gently explore what is contributing to your discomfort, strengthen communication, and develop tools that feel realistic for your life. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, feel more confident expressing your needs, and build a greater sense of balance and connection—even when life remains imperfect.
A Bit About Me
Outside of the therapy room, I am a jack of all hobbies! I enjoy cooking, gardening, crafting, painting, reading, creative writing, and working on puzzles. I am also an avid houseplant collector and love spending time playing with my daughter. Traveling, meeting new people, and exploring new places are important parts of my life—but whenever possible, you will find me barefoot and outdoors.
Let’s Work Together
You do not have to know exactly what you need or have the perfect words before beginning therapy. We can start wherever you are and take the time to explore what healing, connection, and contentment look like for you. If you are ready to approach your story with curiosity and compassion, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
