Understanding Starts Here, Making Sense of What You’re Carrying
Starting therapy can feel vulnerable—especially if you’ve been carrying anxiety, stress, or emotional weight for a long time. You might feel stuck in patterns of self-criticism, overwhelmed by expectations, or unsure how to make sense of what you’re feeling. Maybe you’re navigating a life transition, relationship challenges, or questions about identity, meaning, or purpose.
Whatever brings you here, you don’t have to face it alone. I’m Quinn Mavetz, a prelicensed practitioner based in Blaine, and I work with adults, teens, couples, and families who are seeking greater self-understanding, emotional awareness, and more authentic ways of relating to themselves and others. I strive to create a thoughtful, supportive space where you can slow down, explore what’s been difficult to put into words, and begin making sense of your experiences in a way that feels meaningful and true to you.
Why Work With Me
I offer a thoughtful, collaborative approach to therapy grounded in empathy, curiosity, and trust. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe exploring emotions, patterns, and experiences that may feel overwhelming or difficult to put into words. I listen deeply and work with you to better understand what’s happening beneath the surface, without judgment or pressure to have everything figured out.
Clients often choose to work with me because I tailor therapy to each individual’s needs, values, and goals. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, burnout, grief, relationship challenges, or questions of identity and meaning, I aim to help you build greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and confidence so you can move forward in a way that feels authentic and sustainable.
My Therapy Approach
My approach to therapy is grounded in understanding, collaboration, and respect for your individual experience. Rather than focusing on quick fixes, I take time to help you explore what you’re feeling, notice patterns in your thoughts or relationships, and make sense of how past and present experiences may be connected. Therapy is a space where we slow things down and work together to understand what’s beneath the stress, anxiety, or emotional weight you’ve been carrying.
Sessions are conversational and guided by what feels most important to you. I aim to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where emotions can be explored safely and at your own pace. Through this process, therapy can help you develop greater self-awareness, emotional flexibility, and self-compassion—so you can move toward choices and relationships that feel more aligned with who you are and what matters most to you.
Addressing Common Concerns
Starting therapy can bring up a lot of uncertainty. You might question whether what you’re experiencing is “serious enough,” worry about being misunderstood, or feel unsure where to even begin. These thoughts are more common than you might think—and you don’t have to have everything figured out to start.
I work with clients who are navigating concerns such as:
Anxiety, panic attacks, and chronic worry
Stress, burnout, and feeling emotionally overwhelmed
Life transitions and adjustment to change
Perfectionism, self-criticism, and high expectations
Grief, loss, and complicated emotions
Difficulty understanding or expressing emotions
Identity exploration and self-esteem concerns
Relationship challenges and communication struggles
Family-of-origin concerns and emotional neglect
Questions around meaning, values, spirituality, or purpose
If past experiences have made it difficult to feel understood or safe opening up, therapy can still be a place to try again. My role is not to give directives or quick answers, but to walk alongside you as we make sense of your experiences together. I aim to offer a space where curiosity, reflection, and trust can grow—so support feels attuned to you, not imposed.
A Bit More About Me
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy reading and writing, especially literary fiction and creative journaling. Music and live concerts are a meaningful source of inspiration for me, and I value time spent with friends, traveling to less familiar places, and exploring new perspectives. I also enjoy playing video games as a way to unwind and stay curious.
Spending time outdoors with my dog and my husband is a grounding part of my routine and helps me stay present and balanced. These interests reflect my belief in the importance of creativity, connection, and rest—both in life and in the therapeutic process.
Let’s Work Together
If you’re feeling ready—or even just curious—about starting therapy, I’d be honored to work with you. You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, burnout, grief, relationship challenges, or a desire to better understand yourself, therapy can be a place to slow down, reflect, and move forward with greater clarity and care. We’ll work together at a pace that feels right for you, creating space for understanding, growth, and meaningful change.
