Scheduling
-
The best way to contact Omni is by calling the main number at 651-955-4633 or emailing info@omnimentalhealth.com. After you have established care with a provider, you will have the contact information for that provider for future and subsequent appointments.
-
Intake appointments and regular therapy appointments are scheduled for 53 minutes.
-
Each of Omni’s providers create and manage their own hours and schedule. Each provider’s schedule is a little different; some have early morning appointments and some have evening appointments. Keep in mind that the late afternoon and evening hours are highly sought after appointment times and may cause a longer wait time.
-
Omni seldom has immediate openings with providers for new clients to be seen within the same week, however the next week is sometimes an option depending on the service. Please ask for our current estimated wait times.
-
Contact your provider directly.
Therapists
-
During the initial call to Omni, you will be asked some basic questions to help us understand what your preferences are for a therapist, and the team of supervising providers then use that information to identify which provider would be the best fit with a provider who is within the preferences of the client.
-
We encourage you to take a look at the Provider Bios on our website and see who you may feel most comfortable with, as we want the therapeutic relationship to be set up well from the start. That said, being open to multiple providers gives greater options for getting in for an appointment sooner. Any suggestions we make on available providers will take into account your reason for services and the therapist’s provider background and expertise.
-
Each of Omni’s providers manage their own schedule and provide Omni administration with the available upcoming openings in their schedule. Openings are dependent upon when current clients have completed their services, the openings weekly or biweekly.
-
We can contact the provider on your behalf and set up brief consultations as appropriate.
Services
-
Most people typically attend therapy once a week, although the frequency can vary depending on individual needs and the severity of their mental health concerns, with some individuals attending bi-weekly or monthly sessions, especially once you’ve made significant progress and are in a maintenance phase of therapy. In the initial stages, more frequent sessions may be recommended for intensive support, and also aid to build rapport especially with children and teens.
-
The therapist will primarily focus on gathering comprehensive information about your personal history, current concerns, and desired treatment goals by asking detailed questions about your life, symptoms, and past experiences, essentially building a foundation to understand your needs and develop a treatment plan for future sessions; this includes discussing your medical history, family dynamics, relationships, and any significant life events that might be impacting your mental health. It may be helpful to write down on the intake paperwork as well as bring to session items that you would like to discuss and prioritize for your care.
-
Individual therapy can provide you with therapeutic tools that can also be very helpful when also working with family members or spouses/significant others. Your therapist can discuss and make recommendations.
-
Individual therapy sessions are intended for just the client. Please discuss with your therapist regarding additional family members and if services with a couples counselor are appropriate.
-
Yes. Providers may choose to or not to work with individuals within the same family, and make that decision together with the family and based on the circumstances and to balance the needs of all family members. Family members that see multiple Omni providers can benefit greatly from coordination of care and collaboration between providers.
-
Some providers are open to this, while others are not. If you prefer to have the same provider, we’re happy to identify providers who could meet with both of you. The provider will collaborate with you regarding the pros and cons of these options and help you make an informed decision.
-
We prefer parents to be available as possible, depending on the age and maturity level of your child, and this will be discussed with your therapist. You may not need to be in the actual session every time, especially as they get older; however, depending on your child's maturity level, the reason for therapy, and the therapist's approach, you will likely be expected to be present for some sessions or have regular check-ins to discuss progress and strategies to support your child at home.
-
Psychological assessments, also known as psychological testing, is not a service provided at Omni Mental Health. We can, however, provide you with contact information for offices in the area that do assessments.
Confidentiality
-
No, a therapist generally will not tell your Primary Care Physician what you discuss in therapy sessions unless there is a serious situation where disclosing information is necessary to protect you or others from harm, like if you are expressing imminent danger of self-harm or harming someone else. In most cases, your therapy sessions are confidential and protected by HIPAA laws, with some of the exceptions as noted. We also CAN secure a Release of Information for disclosure between important parties, such as your doctor, care manager, or professionals.
-
The therapist will discuss the limits of confidentiality with the child/teen and the parents. Safety issues are exceptions to confidentiality, as well as are mandated reporting laws. All of these exceptions are written on our HIPAA Privacy Policy.

Each insurance plan is a little bit different. The most accurate information can be obtained by contacting the customer service phone number on your insurance card and inquiring what the insurance will cover and what will be the client/parent/guardian’s responsibility.
