Finding Clarity in Your Relationships

When you’re feeling disconnected, stuck, or unsure how things got off track—whether in your relationship or within yourself—it’s hard to know what to do next. Therapy can be a space to pause, reflect, and begin again with clarity.

I’m Kat Ludwig, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Blaine, MN. I work with adults and couples ready to take a closer look at their relationship patterns, break unhelpful cycles, and build something more meaningful. With warmth, honesty, and a little challenge, I walk alongside you through the complexities of connection, love, and change.

Why Work With Me

For nearly 20 years, I’ve supported individuals and couples through heartbreak, disconnection, betrayal, and major relationship transitions. I also help with the quieter struggles—like losing yourself in a relationship, repeating patterns you don’t understand, or questioning your ability to connect at all.

My work is grounded in helping you understand how early life experiences shape the way you show up in relationships today—and how to shift those patterns. I offer empathy, perspective, and real tools for change. My approach invites self-awareness, stronger communication, and clearer boundaries.

This isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about learning how to move through your relationships with more confidence, honesty, and self-respect.

My Therapy Approach

I take a collaborative, personalized approach rooted in what works best for each client. I use a range of evidence-based methods—including the Gottman Method, CBT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Pragmatic Experiential Therapy for Couples (PET-C), Post Induction Therapy (PIT), and my own Relational Adult Position model—to support growth and change.

My style is feedback-informed, which means I check in regularly about how therapy is going and adjust as needed. In session, I’ll ask reflective questions like, “How did that land for you?” or “How do you think you said that in a way that the other person could receive?” We focus on what’s going well and explore what needs to shift—always with the goal of helping you relate to yourself and others in healthier ways.

Addressing Common Concerns

Many of the clients I work with arrive feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about how to move forward. I commonly help with:

  • Deciding whether to stay or leave a relationship

  • Navigating narcissistic, borderline, or emotionally distant partners

  • Recovering from betrayal or infidelity or abuse

  • Codependency and losing a sense of self

  • Setting boundaries and speaking up

  • Repeating painful relationship patterns

  • Shame tied to early attachment wounds

  • Grief after separation, divorce, or breakups

  • Repartnering and dating again

  • Premarital preparation

  • Navigating non-traditional relationship structures including ethical non-monogamy, kink/BDSM, and polyamorous situations

  • Conflict that keeps repeating

  • Feeling unseen or undervalued

Whatever you’re facing, therapy offers a space to understand, regroup, and grow.

A Bit About Me

I grew up on a farm, where I learned to work hard daily, always do right by neighbors and animals, and be ready to adapt because things often don’t go as planned. These values still shape how I show up as a therapist—steady, thoughtful, resourceful, and grounded.

Outside of therapy, I’m often up north with family, kayaking, fishing, hunting, or four-wheeling. I’m a proud red fox labrador owner, animal lover, painter, musician, and strategy game enthusiast. These passions bring joy and balance into my life—and they help me stay fully present with my clients.

Let’s Work Together

If you're ready to explore your patterns or need support navigating a tough season, I’d be honored to help. While I currently have a waitlist, I supervise a trusted team of therapists at Omni who are accepting new clients. I consult closely with them to ensure consistent, thoughtful care.  When I do take new clients, I frequently utilize a co-therapy model with another therapist who is developing their skill set in relationship therapy.
