Helping You Reconnect with Your True Self
Life can feel overwhelming when emotions take over, relationships feel strained, or past experiences continue to weigh heavily. If you're feeling lost, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it all out by yourself.
I’m Kim Dejno, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I specialize in helping adults and teens (14+) navigate emotional challenges, build self-understanding, and find their way back to a more grounded, confident version of themselves. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, addiction, depression, or feeling stuck in life transitions, I’m here to help you reconnect with your values, your voice, and your sense of purpose.
Why Work With Me
I became a therapist to help people feel whole again. After 10 years of working in substance use counseling, I transitioned to mental health therapy and have spent the past four years helping clients move through pain, rebuild confidence, and find clarity. For the last three years, I’ve also been part of a DBT treatment team, supporting clients struggling with intense emotions and self-destructive patterns.
My clients often come to me feeling overwhelmed, discouraged, or disconnected. I help them learn how to manage difficult emotions, improve communication, and become more aligned with their authentic selves. I’m known for being real and approachable—and for truly believing in my clients, even when they’re struggling to believe in themselves.
My Approach to Therapy
Therapy with me is a collaborative process. You set the goals, and we break them down into meaningful, manageable steps. I’m here to support you, challenge you when needed, and walk alongside you as you make lasting changes.
My work is grounded in a person-centered approach, meaning I tailor each session to meet you where you are. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), solution-focused strategies, and—when it fits for you—spiritual exploration. These methods help you develop insight, regulate emotions, and take practical steps toward healing.
In our first session, we’ll talk about what’s been weighing on you and begin to outline what healing and growth might look like for you. Your voice, your pace, and your values guide the work we do together.
My role is to create a space where you can explore your story without fear of judgment—and start rewriting the parts that no longer serve you.
Addressing Common Concerns
You might be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to turn. Maybe life has shifted in a way you didn’t expect—through a relationship change, a loss, or a mental health struggle that’s become too heavy to carry alone.
Here are some of the concerns I commonly help clients work through:
Anxiety and chronic stress
Depression and low motivation
Substance use and addiction recovery
Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)
Emotional overwhelm or intense mood swings
Past trauma or difficult life transitions
Relationship struggles and communication issues
Feeling lost, disconnected, or unsure of your identity
A Bit About Me
Outside the therapy room, I’m a mom of two and someone who finds joy in the little things—like playing board games, spending time with friends, and continuing my own personal and spiritual growth. I believe change starts from within, and I’m committed to doing that inner work right alongside my clients.
