Helping You Feel More in Control of Your Life

Life doesn’t always go as planned. When emotions become overwhelming, relationships feel strained, or trauma keeps resurfacing, it’s easy to feel stuck or unsure of how to move forward. I’m here to help you navigate those moments with greater clarity, emotional balance, and confidence.

I’m Kimberly Stubblefield, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Blaine, MN. I work with individuals, couples, families, and youth ages 16+ who are ready to feel more grounded and supported as they move toward change.

Why Work With Me

With over 27 years of experience working with people in group homes, government settings, the justice system, and community mental health, I bring a broad understanding of the challenges people face. For the past four years, I’ve focused my clinical work on helping clients manage mood disorders, trauma, and emotional dysregulation.

Clients often come to me feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or weighed down by past experiences. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, parenting challenges, or relationship conflict, my goal is to support your healing and growth with honesty, patience, and empathy.

I became a therapist because I care deeply about people and their potential. As a Black clinician, I also understand the importance of representation in the therapy room. I strive to create a space where all clients—especially those from historically marginalized communities—feel seen, heard, and supported.

My Approach to Therapy

I use a blend of evidence-based approaches, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Adlerian Therapy. Each session is collaborative and tailored to your needs.

A typical session begins with a check-in to assess how things have been since our last meeting. Together, we set a focus for the session—whether that means processing difficult emotions, identifying patterns, or learning new strategies for managing stress. We’ll close with a summary and practices to continue between sessions.

You can expect therapy that’s grounded in compassion, clarity, and real-life application. My role is to help you better understand yourself, build emotional resilience, and feel more equipped to handle life’s challenges.

Addressing Common Concerns

Many people wonder if their problems are “big enough” for therapy or worry about being judged. The truth is, if something is affecting your life, relationships, or sense of peace—it matters. These are just some of the concerns I help clients navigate:

  • Intense or overwhelming emotions

  • Anxiety, panic, and persistent worry

  • Depression and low mood

  • Past trauma or PTSD

  • Self-harm tendencies or harmful coping strategies

  • Emotional dysregulation

  • Parenting struggles or family conflict

  • Communication and relationship issues

  • Identity-related stress and cultural concerns

  • Substance use or recovery support

  • Low self-esteem or chronic self-criticism

  • Feeling stuck, lost, or unsure of your direction in life

You don’t have to go through it alone. Whatever you’re facing, I offer a space where we can work through it—together.

A Bit About Me

Outside of therapy, I’ve been married for 27 years and am a proud mother of three daughters. I enjoy long walks, traveling with my family, listening to music, and practicing mindfulness. These moments keep me grounded and remind me of the same balance and presence I hope to help my clients find in their own lives.
