Helping You Make Sense of What You're Feeling

When life feels confusing, heavy, or overwhelming, it can be hard to know where to start. You might be watching your child struggle with anxiety or attention issues, feeling tension within your family, or noticing your own emotions becoming harder to manage. Therapy can offer a space to pause, make sense of what’s happening, and move toward more clarity and calm.

I’m Molly Saxton, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker at Omni Mental Health in Rochester. I help children, teens, and adults understand the "why" behind their thoughts and behaviors so they can feel more in control and more connected to themselves and others.

Why Work With Me

I work with children from birth and up, teenagers navigating complex changes, and adults trying to find more balance in their lives. Many of my clients face challenges like anxiety, ADHD, depression, grief, and family conflict. These struggles can feel isolating, but they don’t have to be faced alone.

My approach is rooted in curiosity and compassion. I help clients better understand themselves and the people around them—why we think, feel, and act the way we do. Whether we’re building new coping tools or strengthening communication within families, I aim to create a space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow.

Therapy isn’t about fixing what’s “wrong”—it’s about finding steadier ground and learning how to move forward with more confidence and understanding.

My Approach to Therapy

Our first session begins with a diagnostic assessment to better understand your background and current challenges. In the second session, we’ll create a treatment plan with goals that guide our work together. From there, each session offers space to explore progress, emotions, and any concerns that arise.

I use a range of approaches tailored to each client:

  • Play therapy for younger children to express emotions through activity.

  • Talk therapy for teens and adults to process concerns through conversation.

  • CBT to identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns.

  • Solution-focused therapy to work toward practical, short-term goals.

  • Systems theory to support families and improve relationships.

Every session is shaped around your needs, with a focus on building insight, resilience, and emotional balance.

Addressing Common Concerns

It’s normal to feel unsure about starting therapy. You might wonder if your concerns are “serious enough” or worry about opening up. Therapy with me is a space where all emotions are valid, and you’ll never be judged for what you share.

Here are some common concerns I often help clients work through:

  • Ongoing anxiety or feeling constantly on edge

  • Difficulty focusing, especially in children with ADHD

  • Processing medical trauma

  • Emotional outbursts or trouble managing moods

  • Grief after the loss of a loved one

  • Family conflict or communication breakdowns

  • Parenting stress or challenges at home

  • Feeling stuck, unmotivated, or overwhelmed

  • Transitions such as divorce, new schools, or health changes

A Bit About Me

Outside the therapy room, I enjoy traveling, hiking, camping, and spending time outdoors. I’m often cheering on my family in their activities or out walking my two dogs.

These moments help me stay grounded and remind me how important it is to have balance, connection, and joy in everyday life.

Let’s Work Together

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, family challenges, or big life changes, therapy can help you find more clarity and stability. I offer both in-person and virtual sessions in Rochester to fit your needs and schedule.

If you’re ready to take the next step—or even just explore what therapy could look like—I’d be honored to connect with you.
