Finding Support That Feels Human
You might be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in patterns that don’t feel like you. Maybe your relationships feel confusing or painful, or you’re carrying emotional weight you don’t quite know how to put down. If you’re here, chances are you’re looking for something different—something better. You’re not alone in that.
My name is Thérèse Streeter, I help teens and adults in St. Paul who are navigating challenges like low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, or attachment wounds. Whether you're dealing with intrusive thoughts, panic, or just a sense that something’s off, therapy can offer the space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening, and move toward something more grounded.
This work isn’t about fixing you. It’s about creating space to explore, heal, and reconnect with who you are and who you want to become.
Why Work With Me
I work with teens and adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of who they are. My approach is warm and nonjudgmental—you set the direction, and I’m here to support you along the way. Therapy with me is centered on your goals, your values, and what healing looks like for you. I was drawn to this work through my own experiences with relationship wounds, and I deeply believe in the power of therapy to create change that feels real and lasting.
My Approach to Therapy
Therapy with me is flexible and shaped by your needs. Some sessions are open and led by what’s on your mind, while others may follow a more structured approach based on your goals. I aim to create a space where you can be honest, reflect deeply, and take small, meaningful steps forward.
I use approaches like DBT, Emotion-Focused Therapy, ACT, and mindfulness to help you build emotional awareness, manage distress, and reconnect with your values. It’s about understanding yourself more fully—and feeling more present and empowered in your life.
Common Concerns and What to Expect
Starting therapy can feel uncertain, especially if you’re used to holding it all together on your own. You might wonder if your problems are “big enough,” or worry about what it means to open up. That’s completely normal.
My role is to create a space that feels steady, warm, and confidential, where nothing is too small or too messy to talk about. Whether you’re navigating daily stress or deep emotional pain, therapy offers a place to slow down, reflect, and feel less alone in what you’re carrying.
A Bit About Me
Outside of therapy, I find joy in simple things—spending time in nature, baking something sweet, or hanging out with my cat, Donatello. I love music that makes me feel something, whether it's Noah Kahan or dramatic classical pieces. Humor, kindness, and self-compassion are values I carry in both my personal life and my work.
I believe healing doesn’t have to be heavy all the time. Sometimes, laughter and connection are just as important as insight and growth.
Let’s Work Together
Reaching out for support takes courage, and you don’t have to have everything figured out to begin. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just know something needs to change, I’m here to walk with you.
If you're curious about starting therapy or want to learn more about what working together could look like, I’d be glad to connect. I offer sessions both in person in St. Paul and virtually.
When you’re ready, feel free to reach out to schedule your first appointment.
